February Virgo Super Full Moon
Virgos like to stay busy. Often they are the ones that run things from behind the curtain, believing the beauty is in the details. Because the largest Full Moon of the year is landing in Virgo territory, let’s use this energy to pour over the minutiae of life. We can use this magic to comb over the smaller aspects of projects that usually go unnoticed. As a result we will hopefully come away with some larger plans for the year.
I’m suggesting to use this energy to create an energy around the Ritual in Virgo details. I’m going to start with every detail being written down so they can be crossed off. What are those big dreams that need a little practical attention?
As you may have heard, we had some snow in the Northwest recently and I was nearly housebound for almost a week. During this stretch, the furnace – almost as old as I am - decided to die. So, not only could I not leave my house but, I could also see my breath as I made my morning coffee. While the world outside was coming to a standstill, I could feel this Virgo energy start to arise to help me out. There were things to plan, websites to create, and Rituals that needed to be written. I had a new dessert, a recipe dating back to the Middle Ages, which I am trying out for this Full Moon so I needed to do a test run. I had sections of the driveway to shovel before the freeze took hold of the snow. I had a friend’s dog to walk and my own dog that loves the snow and was demanding two walks a day so she could play.
The details started to pour out allowing the dreams to get better. Inside this energy there was even a little comfort taken regarding where I am in life. I have met new people that made me smile and laugh. I have celebrated birthdays and house-warming parties with lovely people as the snow began to fall. I fell in love with where my life is at the moment. I talked to these new people about Ritual Dinners and my vision for the upcoming year and I started to feel like I could handle all the demanding details that will show up. This Virgo energy has started to build up and allow me to feel confident in moving forward.
I also noticed that suddenly my health priorities have shifted over from merely surviving to fully living. Now that I am getting better, I can start to make changes to tackle some of the other areas of my life. I started to crave simple meals made at home. Sometimes just a plate of radishes with some salt and butter will do. Other times, what I need is a simple soup to warm my bones. I could feel my palate start to anticipate the spring time switch to fresh food with lots of citrus and raw vegetables. I could feel this desire for an eating program that is planned but still simple. Something I can stick to that makes me feel good. I used the Virgo energy to simplify and create the menu for this month.
February Full Moon Ritual Dinner
Radishes with fresh bread, salt and butter
Peppers filled with French-herbs
Bibb lettuce salad with blood oranges, pink grapefruit, fennel and olives
Potato Leek Soup
Thanks to the Virgo energy, we are going mostly raw with a warm soup as the main course. Virgo’s take health very seriously and need to eat lots of veggies to keep their system running. I have also thrown in a medieval dessert rarely seen in the United States but found in many pubs in the UK. I will be cooking this wonderful meal at my friend’s log cabin in the woods of Washington State. We will have her wood burning fireplace going and French music playing. The twinkle lights will be on of course, and I will have Ritual Coach candles burning and wonderful, magical, incense burning. And there will be Tarot Cards read.
Ritual for the Virgo Super Moon
Let’s make some lists; lists of steps that need to be taken. Things we want to give the universe in return for the help we need for our journey. Let’s ask for those things you would ask of a Virgo, bills to be paid, help with cleaning and organizing, food to be made, health advice, recommendations for doctors, lawyers or therapists. Let’s ask for all those things we need support in and let’s believe the Universe will help us find the way.
At dinner tomorrow we will be talking about our big dreams and the practical steps we need to take to get there. IS there a class you have been wanting to take or need to take? Are you ready for a new place to live that will support your next steps? Are you ready to work less and travel more? How can we use the energy of this Full Moon to get you there? Maybe this doesn’t sound sexy but these details are the things that need to happen for our dreams to manifest, so let’s honor them with a Ritual.
Light three candles in front of you while during this ritual. We are going to ask for a little more support this time. If you really want to amp the energy up, increase the number to eight. I have started working with this number more and it feels very lucky. Before you sit down, put on the most clothing that makes you feel strong. If this means sexy, go for it. If comfort makes you feel strong, put on those yoga pants. If you feel best in a dress, do it up. We want the best side of you present when writing this list.
Now, write down your big dreams. It can be one sentence, several sentences or whole paragraphs. Whatever works for you. Write down where you want to see yourself this year. Do you want a new job? A new career path? Do you want to fall in love? Maybe get married? Or are you ready to let go of a relationship that has run its course and move instead towards more adventure? What are the details keeping you from living this dream? And are the ‘but’s, that keep you moving forward? These are the steps we want to identify and to ask for help with. The help can come in whatever form the Universe sends. The Universe will send assistance that is for the good of all and will hard no one, including yourself. This is one little prayer I use to protect myself and others.
I have been thinking a lot about energy lately. This Virgo Full Moon energy really has me thinking about self-care and self-love in a very deep way. I have been writing down how certain foods make me feel. I’ve been thinking about what meaning my cravings have; trying to determine if they are emotional or physical. I have been stepping back from baking and turning more towards simpler ways to eat better. I have really been examining self-care and how to heal my body in ways that I never did before. The concept of ‘My body is a temple’ is no longer just a saying; it is how my life is being created. I invite you as well to use this Virgo energy to think about how you are physically feeling at this point in your life and if there are any changes that needs to be made. If so, let’s write them down and ask for help. Maybe you will join me on my ‘No Sugar for 30 days’ plan? Maybe you will give up those credit cards and start to finally save? Maybe it’s time to say yes to letting someone into your heart? Maybe it’s time to make that date with someone? Let’s makes some detailed actions we can take to get to the next level.
When you are done writing, go outside and burn the list. Release it to the earthy Virgo energy and give thanks. Keep a separate list of your actions so that you remember what they are but let go of the wish list. Allow the Universe to answer your call.
