Welcome to Ritual Coach for 2019!
I am so glad you are here.
The first New Moon of the year is often a potent one. It’s the fresh start we desire in the dark of winter. And this year is no exception. We have a beautiful New Moon in Capricorn asking us to say yes to our dreams, regardless of size or perceived practically. The thing about dreams is they are often so personal, we can’t share them with others. Dreams have our own core-energy mixed into the formula. They are a divine treat that we should protect and savor for ourselves. We want to say yes to our deepest desires because they are part of our soul’s journey. A journey as unique as we are.
I spent the first few days of 2019 resting and letting go of 2018. There have been tentacles of 2018 energy lingering in the air around my house, with some chickens coming late to roost. Exhaustion from the socially-packed last month of 2018 brought on tears and more sleep than I am accustomed to. I gave into what my body needed and let go of many usual rituals. Instead, focusing on my word for 2019, Present and Presence (two words but both represent what I want for the year), I just allowed myself to be in the moment. Some moments required tears, some moments required cooking and some moments allowed for conversations with new neighbors that I hope will become friends. I was not thinking of the past or the future but just focusing on what was in front of me at that moment and listening for what my body and spirit were wanting to tell me.
As we move into the New Moon, now is time to shift towards setting your new intentions. I woke up this morning ready to write! I feel like the last of 2018 has finally left the building. I cried, I walked, I ate and I slept and now I am ready to face this New Year with hope and openness. What are you ready to feel in 2019? What are you ready to change? Where do you want to say yes? I want 2019 to feel and be a “Yes” year for all of us. Yes to new opportunities, and most definitely yes to women becoming the leaders we need, yes to working towards the change our country and communities need. Yes to a new way living that is in harmony with our souls and yes to new adventures!
My first intention of this year is happening on the Full Moon of January and every Full Moon for the year. I am starting my year of Ritual Coach Full Moon dinners. I will be creating a menu and cooking everything from scratch with love and magic for my beautiful friends. Food has become such an important focus for me as I have been healing that I realized it was becoming part of my magic. Something I wanted to focus on more and devote more time too. Being able to cook a meal for my friends on the Full Moon and creating a magical space in which we can share our dreams felt like such divine marching orders that I have dedicated myself to this project for the year.
I am starting small for the first dinner in size but not in terms of my menu. I will be spending the next three Sundays at the Farmers Market checking out what’s fresh and in season. I have the menu so far but can always use some inspiration. This project will also be wonderfully creative for me. Photographs and stories of where the inspiration comes from, being able to talk and write about how I am cooking with Magic and intention so that every bite has a purpose. Planning my garden this year so that I can feed my community with food I grew on my porch with love. This project feels like the fresh start I have been waiting for.
What project are you ready to start? Is there something your spirit has been craving so much that simply saying “Yes” might open up a new world? Are you ready to finally take that road trip to the desert or to the American south to experience a new way of living and being? Are you ready to start writing every day? To start moving your body? To finally clean your house so that you can feel free and inviting?
Let’s spend this New Moon saying yes to those dreams, ideas and intentions that deserve our time and energy, so we feel empowered and excited when the opportunities arise. Let’s support the women in our lives that are paving the way towards a better future. Let’s reach out to the old friends that we admire and send them a loving message of how important they are in our lives. Let’s believe the future can be better while we take action to make it that way.
A Ritual for Saying Yes
Light a candle and take out your journal. Set the mood of the room. Do you want some incense? Do you want to drink tea with your Ritual or maybe some coffee? How about a nice glass of bubbly- Kombucha or Champagne will do. Really set the room for this Ritual.
What will you say Yes too?
I want you to write on the top of the page, “I will say Yes to” and then let yourself go. Write down all the things you would say yes to in 2019. This list could include a weekly housecleaner to come in and help you actualize the desire to declutter in the New Year. You could write about that trip to Marrakesh that you have been dreaming about; or the dream job of being a comedy sitcom writer that has suddenly appeared in your mind, or not to mention that cooking school that suddenly looks like fun. What is it you would say yes to if given the opportunity? Would you move to the big city or maybe open up a coffee house in the small town you love to visit? Would you move to a warmer climate if someone offered? Would you say yes to getting married to someone that you love?
Write down all of the exciting and wonderful things you would say yes to. Even ones that feel too big. Write them down! We are telling the Universe what we would say yes to. We are telling ourselves what we would say yes too. Nothing is too big or too small for us in this Ritual. It’s ok to want to say “Yes” to new life and it’s ok if you want to say “Yes” to keeping things the same. We just want this energy out in the world.
I would say yes to:
More dinner parties with women I love
More travel and adventures
A week in Southern California
Flights to Europe to see friends and a healthier lifestyle
More time with my fun nephews
Cooking for and feeding people I love
More time writing
Leaving my phone at home or in another room
Traveling to see family and friends
Meeting new people
A Ritual Coach tour, and last, but not least,
Fresh celery juice in the mornings.
These are just a small list of examples to get you started. Add the details of each of your choices in to the journal. What would you say yes to for all of 2019? We have over 300 days where we can say yes. What does your “Yes” look like?
Write it all down. Feel the energy of this word “Yes”.
When you are done, snuff out your candle and say
Thank you for this or something better.
For the good of all, to harm none.
So it is.
