The Full Moon in Aries
The Full Moon in Aries energy is already stepping forward. This Full Moon energy allows us to feel like exploring the outdoors, the sights and sounds of nature while also examining larger questions within ourselves. It is strong energy and gives us a lovely question to answer, will you accept ‘Explorer’ energy into your world?
This question is easier to ask than to answer.
I slumped into the chair and declared to my therapist that I was “franky”.
As soon as I said this made-up word, I froze. I was embarrassed that I had just spoken a word that didn’t seem to make any sense but at the same time I was able to see that it made complete sense. The energy swirling around me lately can be summed up as a combination of “Frustrated” and “Cranky.” It’s two different, but related, energies that have been prominent in my life lately. I explained that I was trying to say these two words at once and so, franky made complete sense. What I mean is that yes, in the larger scheme of things, I am better physically, but I’m also not better. I’m facing a future that has many unknowns at the moment and yet, at the same time, I have a strong desire to keep seeing how much better I can create things in my life.
While reflecting on this word over the course of the following few days, I also accidently stepped into a whole field of magic. Because I am working to create a better life, I walk five miles a day or more, five being an easy day for me. I spend a lot of time outside and in nature. I was chatting with a friend in the midst of feeling franky and told her about how I had found a four-leaf clover the other day. I told her that I find them often but probably not every day. It’s just something I can do. I told her I would send her four-leaf clover energy so she could find one. Over the next several days, I found a four-leaf clover every day. I wasn’t trying to create magic by this conversation. I just stayed strong in my knowledge that I tend to find them. It’s just something I do, and repeatedly, they kept appearing. Not just actual plants but also the symbol. It’s gotten to the point where I have now decided to stop looking down because I don’t want to add expectations onto this gift. I just want to explore the energy of it. I want to explore my magic.
What does it mean when I accept parts of me that seem silly or non-traditional? What does it mean when I accept that I am unique and magical? Big questions to investigate and explore.
That’s what this Full Moon is asking us to do; explore those parts of us, even if it means exploring the depths of our soul. You could make it a game or an adventure. You can make it whatever you want it to be, just embrace it. Don’t deny possible happiness and don’t turn away from the Explorer energy because it could mean something you are doing right now might end. Rather, welcome the notion that we are being given some time and space to embrace and familiarize our Explorer energy to help us move toward our next adventure - internally and externally.
This energy has also inspired me to look at my life in a new way. If I am physically well enough to walk daily, is it possible for me to add something new without crashing again? And, if so, what can I handle knowing I am not 100%. I picked writing. I could commit to having a daily writing schedule along with my daily walks. It may be something very small but since I deal in micro units of time at this point in my recovery, it felt achievable. I cleaned out a corner of my room and set up my writing desk. I’ve been exploring not just writing but reading, comfort, magic and beauty. I sit down to write but I’ve also given myself permission to explore. Sometimes I can easily write pages, some days I need a break and want to explore new things to stimulate my writing. I have committed to the exploration of healing sufficiently enough to add love back into my world.
What is ahead for you? What do you want to explore during this Full Moon that will help inspire you? What areas of your life could use some creativity and fun? How ready are you to start finding four leaf clovers?
Explorer energy is the antidote to the franky feeling. It’s this energy that will help guide you to your next step. It’s the energy of allowing yourself to believe that life can and will change. It’s asking yourself, what do you want to see on your walks? Do you want a life where the scenery never changes and becomes dull because you’ve given up? OR are you ready to start noticing four leaf clovers on your walk? Are you ready to explore parts of yourself ready to be loved? Are you ready to explorer a new career, home, or relationship? Are you ready to plan that big adventure of helping to build homes for those in need? Are you ready to explore forgiving someone so you can move forward? Where are you ready to explore?
A Ritual for Being Franky
Make a cup of tea. We will use it as our natural timer.
Carve out a little spot in your home that can be just yours for this Ritual. Set it up with your journal and anything else you want close by. It could be flowers, a tarot deck or a photo. Play music that relaxes and inspires you. I’ve been listening to the beautiful new album by Elijah Bisbee called Isolation. Pick something that soothes you. Bring that cup of tea to your spot.
Now write about what explorer energy means to you. Drink the cup of tea while you do this. Handle the tarot deck, hold the flowers, and study the photo. Do whatever you need to do while you write and drink your cup of team. I don’t want you to leave this project until that cup of tea has been drunk. Somedays a cup of tea can be finished in a few minutes, some days, it takes all day. Give yourself permission to let the Universe decide the length of this Ritual. I just want you to focus on exploring and what it means to you.
This could include adding images to your journal of adventures you would like to take with someone you love. Is it a beautiful trip to Paris, a walking adventure of Scotland, or the beaches of Greece? Where do you want to go with this person? Where do you want to explore?
Maybe you are ready to explore what it would be like to become fully independent in your life; leave relationships where you feel weak or dependent? Write down what it would feel like to let go of the old stories and to explore and create new ones.
Have fun with this Ritual. Make it an adventure. Invite this explorer energy in and be with it like you would be with a toddler when the whole world was fun to explore. Something as simple as a snail in a shell became this magical creature that you loved tracking in your yard. Where did the snail go? You would ask out loud as you played. Allow this energy to seep into your world this week so you can avoid being franky. Let out the inner child in you to embrace this Aries Full Moon and all it’s explorer energy.
Once your cup of tea is done and you are ready to finish, thank the Universe for providing this energy to you and give yourself permission to explore and have fun.
Embrace your explorer energy for this Aries Full Moon. What adventures are calling you? Where will you go?
