New Moon in Aries
Lately I have been “exploring” as a way to prepare for the coming Aries New Moon. “Exploring” both as play and as ritual, and doing so not just in a physical sense but also an emotional one. As I explore local neighborhoods, locally-owned shops or new restaurants on my little one-day trips, I am aware of the amount of information I am taking learning about the world around me and the one within me. I’m seeing an eagerness to learn and a willingness to take risks and explore in our communities in ways that it seems we have neglected for a long time. What does it mean to explore our communities, our cities, our families and ourselves? I find myself exploring new places, stopping at small roadside shops and walking through communities, eating at a family-run cafe and meeting new people.
This is extra helpful as I start to work with Venus more and open myself up to letting love into my life. 2018 is been my year to heal not just my body but also my heart. Now that I am no longer working in the corporate world, I feel a softness coming back to me. I’m cooking for loved ones, spending time with people in simple and directly-connected ways and I’m even starting to date again. I’m using these exploration adventures to understand myself better so that when I meet someone I am excited about, I can share with them all these parts of my world. I’m so delighted to finally have space in my life to date again. It’s such a nice experience to let go of my ego and simply meet someone where they are - at that moment - and to leave the experience smiling. I feel a totally different energy that is allowing me to also include boundary-setting and has resulted, overall, in intense creative output. This is a new energy, a strong and movement-filled, creative energy. It is dancing with the power of spring and is about to bring beautiful changes.
How can we use this power during the New Moon in Aries to set our Spring Intentions? We are being handed a clean slate. How do we want to use it? What exploration, boundary-setting and joyful hopes, dreams and plans do we want to work on this season? It can be as simple as painting a room, having tea with good friends, getting a hug from a loved one, treating ourselves to a day of community service or just a day where we wear our softest clothing and vow to feel good in our skin. A change of the seasons is coming. Let’s embrace it.
Ritual for Exploration
Pick a day to explore. You want to use your intuition to guide you as to what this day may look like. This is as much guidance or as personal of a request as I can give you. How can you manifest exploration energy in your life for one whole day? Now go forth and take looks of photos! I want you to tag them on Instagram or Facebook for me to see. I want to experience your exploration as I share mine with you.
