Calm after the Storm
We’ve all heard about the calm before the storm, but let’s think for a minute about when the storm stops. There is always a calm after the storm. The moment when you realize the winds have died down, the rain has stopped, the snow has ceased, the heatwave finally breaks and for the first time since it started, you can exhale.
That’s what we are working on this week; the exhale. The days after the Full Moon partial eclipse, when things start to settle down again. This is the time when we want to take stock of what is still standing and what was destroyed. We reclaim what we want and let go of the rest. We have moments of gratitude for our safety, our home, our lives and we also push up our sleeves to get back to work and prepare for the next event. Whenever it might be.
Right now, we just want to focus on the post-Full Moon exhale. What we needed to leave has left. We have let it go and are now ready to move on. We are ready to exhale and gain clarity for what we want to summon to us in at the New Moon.
I was driving around one of my favorite water-meets-land places this weekend and suddenly had a flash image in my mind of my spirit stepping forward and leaving behind a whole lot of weight. This weight was physical, emotional, spiritual and magical. My spirit stepped out of this fog and into clarity. Though only a brief image, it really made an impression. I have felt these moments of clarity lately about my life and my journey. They are usually quick, flickering mind-pictures and if ignored would not even register in my mind. But because I have slowed down so much lately, I am experiencing them again. They are insights into my last few years, seeds of understanding. They are magical and logical answers to my journey. And they are my exhale moments. The moments when I suddenly can breathe, come back into my body and feel grounded. I am writing them down in my notebook as I experience them so that I can keep a record the next time I feel a storm coming on. They are my ritual for the week.
I have this energy returning after many years of it being blocked. The storm has passed and suddenly I am rediscovering parts of myself that I have long ignored. It feels really good. I am waking up from a long slumber of being out of touch with my authentic self. I am also physically feeling better. More present in my body. More aware of my healthy urges and able to respond to them. I let go of a lot this Full Moon. I suddenly have space where I can focus again. Reading, Gardening, Cleaning, Magic Making, Writing. These are all on my list this week. Tea instead of coffee, homemade salads from the garden and spending time with people that truly love me. Space to let my spirit come out and play.
Moments of Clarity
As we finish up the Full Moon energy this week, look for these flashes of clarity. Those are all the thoughts or images that help us understand our journeys a little better. Those are the moments when we can exhale and smile. Keep your journal with you as much as you can this week, in order to write down these moments as soon as they happen. With every stroke of the pen, you should feel a bit more at peace. These moments, over the next week, are going to set the stage for the Solar Eclipse happening on the New Moon. We are preparing this week, allowing for the calm after the storm of the partial eclipse to settle in and help clear up our next moves. So, if you can, write every day this week. What did you learn from this Full Moon? What did you need to let go of and why? Where is there space in your life that is ready to flourish? Where is there space that needs a little extra care and attention? What is your spirit saying? What are your next steps?
Also this week, let’s enjoy some silence. Try to spend at least five minutes a day in silence, giving ourselves physical moments to exhale. Let’s notice our breathing, and let the mind be calm so we can hear our messages.
Have a great week and keep track of those moments of clarity. Share them with us if you can. We are all experiencing this magical time together.
