August Full Moon Ritual
It’s okay to let go. This is how I feel about the Full Moon Eclipse. It’s okay to let go of relationships that do not bring harmony into your life. It is okay to want better relationships with the people in your life, whether they are loved ones, friends, family or co-workers. It is okay to use this Aquarius energy to dig into what brings you joy in life and to shed people that may not understand or support you. The totality of what you are; quirks and all. Aquarius does not want to engage in the drama that so much of our culture thrives on. Aquarius wants to go deep into what brings them joy and avoid the rest.
It’s okay to let go of the dreams that no longer bring you joy or to walk away from situations that are hurting you or chip away at your confidence. We find with this Full Moon that family patterns may surface that are rooted deeply in childhood. This is a great Full Moon to set intentions around letting those patterns go. We are not the patterns that our families imprinted into us. We are being given a potent Full Moon to let go of these painful situations and to decide to do what’s best for ourselves. We also are waking up to culture patterns set into our history that are no longer working for us. This Full Moon brings about questions of loyalty. Will we blindly follow our leaders, our parents, our siblings even though to do so hurts our sense of self? Or will we finally decide we have had enough and change is needed.
I am embracing this Full Moon to build my female community. My mother wound is deep and strong but will no longer control my life or my body. I will be getting surgery soon to physical remove this wound and I am working on clearing out the wound in my social life. I am becoming very clear on what kind of female friendships and interactions I want in life and it involves change. It involves letting go of the voice in my head that states I am not worthy of good female friendships. It involves letting go the idea I need to walk this path alone without girlfriends that show up and help me. It involves letting my female friends hold my hand after surgery when I waken to the knowledge I will never be a biological mother. It involves the truth that I need women in my life that show up for me because at this point, I don’t feel like I deserve those kinds of relationships. It involves rejecting the family pattern that I am “too much trouble to deal with”.
I am also embracing this Full Moon to prepare for more love and attention. The upcoming New Moon is in attention-seeking Leo. So let’s use this Full Moon to prepare for the second half of the month where we will feel deserving of some attention, some fun and lots of love. Letting go is preparation for welcoming in the new.
It’s Okay to Let Go Ritual
For this Ritual we will be using our minds, our words and our imagination. Aquarius is an air sign. People born under this sign live in their minds so we will want to get mentally clear on what we are calling in. It’s not just a feeling with this sign but the mind also needs to agree. Make yourself a cup of tea, coffee or pour yourself a nice glass of wine. Sit down and write in your journal what you are ready to let go of. Is it a family pattern that leaves you feeling insecure? Is it a new partner that causes you more anxiety than fun? Are you working at a job that leaves you questioning yourself when in fact you are a natural born leader? We want to let these situations go. These outside influences do not get an invitation to our party anymore. We no longer have room for these people, situations or dynamics. We are being asked to bring more love into this world and this starts with us cleaning house of things that hurt us. People, places and situations that hurt us. If you can, write letters to these dynamics in your journal explaining why they no longer are good for you. Write down how they make you feel and what you would like instead. Some situations you can’t change right away or some you will be in forever. But you can decide to keep your side of the street clean and these break-up letters will help. You aren’t wishing anything negative towards these situations. You are just stating that it is hurting you to stay and you no longer wish to be this dynamic. When you are done with these letters, burn them. We want to use this air energy to release this pain. We want to ask the Universe to help us grow stronger and help us to change how we view ourselves. We want to ask the Universe to call in more love and harmony into our lives. Talk to the air and ask for what you want.
I will be asking for women that show up for me to strengthen my community. I will be asking to help heal my mother wound and allow me to move forward into my next stage in life. I will be asking the Universe to allow me to become a mother to those that need it in a healthy way. I will be asking the Universe to help me heal and be able to love others like I need to be loved. And I will be asking for our country to stabilize and become a better place than it is currently. We need loving communities, we need fairness, we need safety and we need to feel secure. We need to feel loved and not abused by people we elect to protect us.
I am excited for this Full Moon. I have never seen a painful situation more clearly nor have I been strong enough to walk away from it, but I am now. I am ready to understand what it feels like to have people show up for me. I am ready to feel loved by the people around me. To feel supported, encouraged and liked. I am ready to shed this idea that I am too difficult or demanding due to my chronic illnesses or things I can’t help. I am ready for my disabilities to feel like strengths and not burdens. I am ready to be seen as someone that is strong and wonderful. I am ready to end this pattern of pain that is rooted in my childhood.
Once you have burned your letters, take a bath or go swimming. If that does not sound like fun, then drink some water, give yourself a foot bath or simply sit by a lake or river or any body of water. We want to connect with the feminine energy that is calling all of us to heal, to be there for each other and to change the course of what’s happening. Let’s use the water to heal our bodies, our souls and cleanse our energy so we truly let go of what no longer is serving us.
