Dance Like A Happy Child
An outdoor wedding in the unpredictable Northwest weather. It was a practice of patience. Love trumped weather, control, tradition and expectations.
When love can allow you to transcend the ordinary, this is when the magic happens. This is when life feels like it is in full color.
This week we are working with this juicy love energy. The love that allows us to have these Theater of the Absurd moments that we humans call life. This love energy is pure of heart. It’s the child in the green dress dancing outside in the rain before the ceremony. It’s the bond you have with your mother where you can see her in yourself and you can see yourself in her and both are seen with love. It’s the bond old friends have that allow them to know you so well that just hearing their voice can soothe your soul.
This energy supports the realization that the path is starting to clear. It’s the table of childhood friends laughing about old times. It’s the dream life that is starting to manifest in a beautiful way.
This week we want to give thanks for open-hearted love. Pure love. Love of life, family, friends, community and divine humor. This week we also want to work towards healing. Healing our hearts, our soul, our energy and our bodies.
Let’s work with earth energy this week; let’s dig our toes into the earth and breathe from the deepest parts of our lungs. Let’s open our hearts so wide that all we can do is smile and feel love for those around us. Let’s give thanks to the unknown for helping us create this perfectly imperfect life of ours.
Let’s give thanks to those that see us in pain and respond with open-hearted love. Let’s give thanks for a life that allows us to be with our mom when it’s time for us to hold the space for her and be the strength she needs. Let’s give thanks for those tears in the groom’s eyes as he talks about his love for the everyday stuff normal stuff he does with his new wife. Let’s give thanks to the loved one that will hold our hand while we admit we don’t know what to do in life. And let’s give thanks to those people that look at us like we sparkle and are a treasure.
Write this list in your journal with an open heart and a smile on your face. Find the small places that are giving you pleasure to be alive right now. Find the moments in an ordinary day where you feel the magic of the Universe. It can be as simple as finding a feather, seeing the moon or having a drink with an old friend as you tell him about how you are about to face your fears and change your life, and having him support you instead of tease you. It’s about the beautiful girl in her green dress dancing during the wedding ceremony and throwing rose petals around as if no one is watching her.
When you are done with getting all these moments, people, thoughts, images into your journal, take a walk. Breathe. Feel the breeze on your face.
When you return home, light a candle and say thank you to the Universe for helping us to start to see the light. Then call a friend, a loved one, a family member and tell them you appreciate them.
