Know Your Truth – Take Your Space
This is an interesting New Moon. Normally, I adore New Moons; finding them refreshing and exciting. This New Moon is in Aries while Venus is in retrograde and is one where I say instead, take all the space and distance you need. There is no reason to be involved in other people’s drama, at their lashing out or harsh criticism. There is no reason to jump head-first into anything without knowing how deep the waters are. Instead, let’s use this energy to know our truths, to take our space and to use our energy to heal our wounds so we can keep moving forward.
People are on edge. It’s not just because here in the Northwest we have only had 4 days’ worth of sunshine since October. It seems to extend beyond geography to our World affairs. We are like volcanoes erupting right now. I have heard people state opinions like they are facts about other people versus just offering a limited opinion of where someone else is in life. I watch as the art of saying thank you gives away to a “me first” attitude. I witness as we are willing to support others but only if they fit into our definition of how the world should work, otherwise we cast them aide. All this energy is swirling around while we also just try to live our daily lives.
What is my ritual this week to counter what I have been witnessing, feeling and experiencing? It is to slow down and take my space. It is to know my truth and to allow forgiveness to lead my interactions rather than judgement. It’s acceptable to take time in our lives to allow others to experience what they need to experience while also moving out of the way so that we do not suffer. It is also right to know the truths about ourselves, regardless of what the world might think. When we do our spirit work, we learn lessons, we agree to growth. That way we experience the wide range of energy that life has to offer. We have some experiences that are so good they feel like rewards. We experience some lessons that are so harsh, they can feel like punishment. And we grow so that every step we take brings us closer to who we are supposed to be in this lifetime. Sometimes that means we stumble on our path, sometimes it means we race and sometimes we have the most perfect day where we get to stop to and smell the roses.
This week let’s slow down. Let’s ground ourselves. Let’s sit, stand, walk or just be in silence. Let’s allow this New Moon to show us what we might want to change or address but let’s do it from a heart- centered place of our truths. Not from a place of ‘should’ or what other people’s view of us is. Let’s allow the expressions without taking them to be the truth. Let’s live in a state of compassion this week so we can give space where it needs to be.
Ritual for Knowing Your Truth and Taking Space
Let’s take a walk this week in silence. If possible, clear your mind and just walk. No music, no thoughts, no agenda or other people. Just walk to help ground yourself. Once you feel grounded, takeyour journal out and write down areas in your life where you feel you need to know Your Truth. Maybe somebody said something at work that caused you to feel off? Maybe a family member lashed out at you and hurt your feelings? Or maybe you hurt someone by accident but you know its not how you normally react and you need the gentle reminder that you are just human and make mistakes. Write down these places where you need to Know Your Truth. Write down what Your Truth is. Did you miscommunicate this week and it triggered someone but you know that their opinion of you is not based in your truth? Did you forget that your spirit is desiring something more in your life than you are currently giving it so you feel like you are off path? Did you lash out this week and say somethings you regret? These are all parts of our truths. They are all parts of our story this week. It’s our job to decide what Our Truth is and then allow space for those places where things are not aligned.
Once we have written down all the places where our truth has been coming up this week, let’s take a little space to allow for compassion, forgiveness and silence. It’s fine to be a hermit this week. It’s fine to go to bed early every night after a hot salt bath. It’s acceptable to spend our down time writing in our journal versus doing things out of obligation. And it’s more than acceptable to not answer the phone. We need to practice self-care and self-protect right now. We will come back to our lives next week. We will come out of this Venus in retrograde ready to love again. We will make it through this tough Mars alignment where everyone has a quick and fiery tongue. We will come out the other side knowing our truths. Knowing a little more about ourselves and where our painful points are but also that our big hearts and compassionate soul can forgive. Forgiveness for ourselves and for others.
